What is blended learning?
Have you ever used blended learning? Do you know what it is?
In just a few words I will try to explain what is blended learning.
Blended learning implies the combination of different methods which produce learning.
In other words...Blended learning, as it's name suggest, is the mix of virtual learning and physical classroom activities.
From that definition there are plenty of categories for blended learning:
Scheduling:
- Synchronous
- Asynchronous
It could be at your own time. Or during a scheduled class.
Delivery method:
- Live classroom
- Computer bases
It could be in a regular classroom or just you and the computer.
Degrees of guidence:
- Individual
- Instructor or expert lead
- Group /social learning.
Blended learing has some great advantages:
- Participation
- Personalization
- Pacing
- Place
- Personal Interaction
Definitly the use of techonology in blended learning allows to make training more engaging, offering the chance to innovate.
But still what is blended learning?
A good example of this is the use of Blogs. Just like the more where you are reading this.
You can use a blog to assign your students explain about different topics, and the best of this is the possibility to include videos, images, and so much more.
